Privacy Policy

The short version
mybud shows no ads, contains no advertising or behavioural tracking, and never sells your data. We collect only what the app needs to work and limited technical diagnostics needed to keep it reliable.
What we collect
- Account: your email address (and name, if your Google/Apple sign-in provides one), used solely to identify your account.
- Your budget data: the transactions, income, categories, IOUs, and settings you enter. They exist so the app can sync them across your devices, nothing else.
- Optional receipts: when receipt attachments are available and you choose to use them, we store the image or PDF you select, its filename, size, type, and the budget entry it belongs to. Camera or file access is used only when you choose an attachment. We do not scan your photo library or read unrelated files.
- Purchases: if you subscribe to Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple/Google and managed through RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes purchase history and entitlement status to provide Pro access and aggregate subscription reporting. We never see your payment details.
- Crash and performance diagnostics: production builds use Sentry to receive crash reports and limited technical performance data, such as app version, operating system, device model, screen route, HTTP status, and an opaque internal account ID. Sentry is configured not to receive your email, budget entries, request bodies or headers, query strings, screenshots, interaction labels, logs, or session recordings.
What we don't do
- No advertising, ad identifiers, or ad networks.
- No feature-use analytics or behavioural tracking SDKs.
- No selling, renting, or sharing data with third parties for marketing.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored with Supabase (hosted on AWS, eu-west-1, Ireland), protected by row-level security so only your authenticated account can read or write it. Purchases are managed by RevenueCat, and technical crash and performance diagnostics are processed by Sentry. These providers act only to operate and improve mybud. Transport is encrypted (TLS).
Optional receipt files are stored privately with Cloudflare R2; their account ownership and attachment details are stored with Supabase. Viewing a receipt requires an authenticated ownership check and uses temporary access links. Receipts are not used for advertising or AI training. Your existing receipts remain accessible if Pro expires.
If you export a CSV or Excel file, it is created on your device and shared only through the destination you select. You control copies saved outside mybud and should share financial records carefully.
Deleting your data
Settings → Delete account permanently erases your mybud account and budget data from Supabase. Deleting the account does not cancel an active Apple or Google subscription; cancel it in your store's subscription settings. Purchase records may remain with Apple, Google, and RevenueCat for entitlement, transaction, fraud-prevention, or legal requirements. Previously collected diagnostic records expire under Sentry's retention settings; contact us to request earlier deletion. You can also email us (below) for account help.
Deleting a receipt or your account removes access in mybud and queues the stored receipt files for permanent removal. Cleanup retries if the storage service is temporarily unavailable. A previously issued access link can remain valid until its short expiry. Copies you exported or shared outside mybud must be deleted separately.
Children
mybud is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
